This contest is open for kids ages 10-16. Participants must choose from one of the two essay prompts below and submit their paper by Saturday, July 20. Contest results will be sent to all participants, as long as you include your email in the submission form. The prompts are relevant to this years summer reading theme, so students are encouraged to put an emphasis on adventure! The winning submission from each prompt will have their writing displayed in the library and receive a gift basket.
- Participants can only submit one piece that follows one of the prompts below.
- Submissions can be no longer than 500 words
- When submitting papers do NOT include the name of the writer on the paper
- Complete the form below to submit your piece

Prompts:
- Write a story from the perspective of a sidekick
- Include the phrase " It was a longer day than I expected." somewhere in your paper.
